Petkoff Accepts Offer from Clarke

Jen Petkoff is proof that a severe knee injury doesn't mean the end of a basketball career.  Two summers ago, Jen was on the Lakers Black National Travel Team, but a severe knee injury put a detour in her dreams of playing in college.

Thanks to high effort in her rehabilitation, Jen's dreams of playing college ball became a reality with her commitment to play basketball at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa.  Below, is a picture of Jen with Wisconsin Lakers Director, Mike Elles, at Jen's signing at Big Foot High School.

Jen, congratulations on your success from your Laker family!

NEWS:  Western Illinois Signs Faith Lois,
Ashley Luke Named Summit Newcomer of the Year

Actions speak louder than words.  But, with three Wisconsin Lakers on his roster, Western Illinois Coach J.D. Gravina must truly believe it when he calls the Wisconsin Lakers "one of the top AAU teams in the nation."

First, the Lakers gave the Leathernecks Ashley Luke.  A transfer from UW-Green Bay, Luke made an immediate impact with the Leathernecks. Luke was recognized as Summit League 2013 Newcomer of the Year and named second-team, all-conference in the Horizon League.

Then, as part of their 2013 recruiting class, the Leathernecks picked up their second Laker player:  Shooting guard and lockdown defender, Michelle Farrow, from Waukesha, who will join Western Illinois this fall.

The latest Laker pickup for the Leathernecks is Faith Lois, a Burlington native who will transfer from Nevada, sit out a season, then join Gravina's squad in the 2014-2015 season.

Gravina commented on picking up Lois:

" exemplifies all of the qualities that we are looking for to help us continue building this program: a strong work ethic, basketball talent, intelligence, and high character...  She can use her size and athleticism to get to the rim, or knock down shots from the three-point line."

Tuttle in Laker Hall of Fame
